Hi!
I was great meeting all of you tonight. On my way home I realized that there were a few things that I missed between the classes.
5 o'clock class: I failed to demonstrate taking video on the point and shoot cameras; the icon is usually a picture of either an old-fashioned movie camera or a piece of perforated film. Try it and then make sure you can figure out how to play it back. Also, Alan in the second class reminded me that I did not discuss digital zoom. All point and shoots like to advertise that they can zoom out much more than the optical zoom factor. This is done with smoke and mirrors and usually does not produce pictures with much quality. It may be set to on by default; check your settings and experiment.
6:30 class: If you decide to download Picasa2, it will ask you immediately whether it should find all the pictures on your computer or whether you will control what it finds. Take the latter choice as that way it will be limited to My Documents and avoid importing lots of systems pictures.
Remember, if you want to review the class handouts digitally you will need to click the link on the right side of this page to Empoweringtech. That is my web site rather than my blog and has handouts rather than web links.
I enjoyed teaching you all. See you all next Monday.
